Meal Times

There is no hard and fast rule as to the time when an adult dog should be fed. The important thing is that the meal-time should be regular. The dog fed at mid-day will be disappointed if its food does not arrive at the appointed time, just as the dog accustomed to receiving its meal in the early evening will wait expectantly for the appearance of its food bowl.

Certainly there is no objection to the dog receiving its meal in the evening, especially if it is to enjoy a walk afterwards. But the owner who feeds a dog prior to bedding it down for the night cannot expect it to be clean until morning.

Basically dogs are creatures of habit and, given love, correct food and regular exercise, should live long, happy and healthy lives.
